Electronic school certificates will be introduced from the 2025/2026 academic year

Starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, graduates of general education schools will receive their certificates in electronic format. The new system will allow graduates to access their certificates online at any time and will cover about 300,000 people. The introduction of electronic certificates aims to simplify document management, make services faster, and expand digitalization in the education sector.

In a statement to Modern.az, Vasif Gafarov, a member of the Science and Education Committee of the National Assembly, explained the new system:

"The new feature is that electronic certificates will be issued through a centralized digital platform. This platform will be integrated into the e-government system, and the information of every graduate will be stored in a single database. The certificate will no longer be a paper document but a digital document confirmed by a unique identification code or QR code. This will make it easier to verify documents and reduce the risk of forgery. The process will be regulated by legal acts, and the rules for data protection, access, and use will be clearly defined."
