Poland after the new regulations: Foreign Students and Economic Impacts

The report titled “Studenci zagraniczni w Polsce w kontekście nowych regulacji. Skala, trendy i znaczenie gospodarcze”, published by the University of Economics in Katowice, provides a comprehensive analysis of the current situation of foreign students studying in Poland, the dynamics of their numbers, and their impact on the country's economy.

According to the report, international students contribute billions of zlotys to the Polish economy not only through the higher education sector, but also via housing, services, and daily consumption expenditures.

At the same time, it is emphasized that new regulations and possible stricter rules may negatively affect the number of international students, and that changes in visa or migration procedures, in particular, could weaken Poland’s competitiveness in the international education market.
